The following bouquet was made of yellow garden roses, white fressias, ivy green hypericum berries, green mini pom flowers and leather green leaf.... Yellow and green, it's definitely a beautiful color combination.
Every event is special to me. I always love to immerse myself into the event and do everything I can to make it a memorable day for those celebrating. This past Friday I had the honor of designing a traditional Latin Quinceañera party. A Quinceañera is a celebration that marks a girl turning into a woman on her 15th birthday. The young woman wears a formal (often pink or white) dress that resembles a wedding dress. It’s said that a Quinceañera held outside of the young girls country of origin holds particular importance as the celebration helps to preserve the sense of Latino cultural heritage and the unity of their family. It was clear that the event needed to be adorned with the traditional pink and white flowers that showed the cultural spirit of the young girl turning into a woman. The floral table centerpieces, table numbers, escort cards and party favors all embodied the traditional pink and white colors that mark this momentous time in a young girls life and what a party it turned out to be! The night flowed fabulously from the church to The Norwalk Inn where friends and family dined on gourmet food and danced to primarily traditional Latin music. The smiles on the Quinceañera Jennifer and her parents faces set the stage for everyone to have what can only be described as an amazing night.
Summer is here, and we were inspired to do this simple but beautiful flower arrangement of sunflowers and pink roses. I think it turn out to be beautiful.
Where do wedding planners go to rejuvenate their creative batteries? They go to the best educational showcase and networking platform, that's where! Presented by the Association of Bridal Consultants (ABC) and held at the luxurious Arizona Grand Resort from November 7-9, 2010 in Phoenix, AZ, hosted by the President of ABC, David Wood. The theme of the conference was HOTT (High Octane Twenty Ten) and we had a fantastic time getting to mingle with top bridal consultants, this conference really had it all. All the attendees were given the royal treatment!
Highlighting the event were coveted featured wedding industry planning titans, David Tutera, and Sasha Souza who both shared details about their wedding planning processes and pictorial presentations of some of their recent wedding planning. It was truly inspiring!
Being able to spend time with Sasha Souza who has been a Bridal Consultant since 1995 and is considered among the top event designers in the nation was awesome. She did an amazing presentation on the evolution of design and displayed a presentation of her remarkable work.
Also on hand, was the guest of honor, the very approchable David Tutera who host the popular show My Fair Wedding on te WE channel. It was a great privilege to hear about his first hand experience as a celebrity wedding designer and how he has successfully expanded his business in so many other ways. From wedding gowns to jewlery collection, he has become a true icon of the industry and just feeding off his energy was inspirational. With his cheerful persona and amazing vigor for everything wedding, it's no surprise that he is such a success.
As you can see in the below pictures the event was first class and we came back with some great ideas from some of the best minds in the industry.
I am incredibly excited to have my first blog post include my portfolio photo shoot. 10/10/10 was definitely a lucky day for me and it also marks an important moment for my family. You see, on this date 40 years ago my parents got married so it felt really good to be able to honor them by having my inaugural photo shoot which they were able to attend. In fact, I owe a big thank you to much of my family for their support and help during the day. My talented sister Sandra made an amazing and beautiful wedding cake and my gorgeous friends Jessica, Monica, Lubia and Marcela made for some of the most breath taking brides you could imagine. My adorable and sweet niece Milina made for the most precious flower girl in the world and special thanks to Alex Guzman for the amazing photos, Kizzie for the make-up work and Delia for the hair! Eclatant is off and running and I can't wait to see what the future holds for the amazing brides that I will work with. More to come....
